Message from the Pastor
Why Gospel Fest?
We are living in a time when people seldom get time to socialize with each other face to face. Gone are the days when people used to gather in the Town Square for different festivals; which encouraged the development of communities. In an earlier era, people knew their neighbors and had relationships. Today families live in the same house and sometimes do not see or speak with each other. People are often using technology and social media to communicate than in person with each other. Gospel Fest is designed to recapture that Town Square Community Spirit and bring people from all walks of life together. The marginalized, the homeless, the business people, the political leaders, the community leaders, the haves and have nots in Durham; which ultimately, over the long term allows for greater acceptance of each other, and for the opportunity to tear down distrust by building bridges.
Come Join Us
On the second Sunday in August from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. the downtown area in Oshawa, Memorial Park, will come alive with pulsating music and the smoking smell of mouth-watering BBQ. On behalf of the Oshawa Gospel Fest Committee at the Church of God Sabbath Keeping Oshawa we invite you and your family to come and join us. Looking forward to see you there!

Mayor John Gray pictured with Pastor Louis George after opening the event with a welcome speech. Our first year of Oshawa Gospel Fest was originally named: “Open Air Gospel Concert”. Ambassadors of the Kingdom praise and worship singers opened up the event with some lively songs to bring in the community.
